ByteNode Terms of Service (TOS)

Welcome to ByteNode! By signing up and purchasing a service with us, you agree to these terms. Please read carefully — we promise to keep it simple.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or purchasing a server with ByteNode, you agree to comply with these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree, please don’t use our services.

2. Eligibility

You must be 16 years or older to use our services. By signing up, you confirm you meet this age requirement.

3. Services Provided

ByteNode currently offers game server hosting, with plans to expand to VPS and shared hosting. We provide:

  • Server uptime and maintenance.

  • Assistance with downtime caused by us.

  • Help installing software.

  • Support for backup restoration only when the loss is caused by ByteNode.

We do not provide:

  • Configurations or troubleshooting beyond basic software installation.

  • Support for data loss caused by user error or third-party factors.

4. User Responsibilities

By using ByteNode, you agree not to:

  • Host illegal content.

  • Engage in DDoS attacks, hacking, or disruptive behavior.

  • Violate copyright or other intellectual property laws.

You are responsible for your account, including any activity from it. Keep your login details safe.

5. Fair Use

ByteNode’s services are intended for normal personal or business use. Excessive use, abuse of resources, or actions that negatively impact other users or our servers may result in temporary suspension or termination. We reserve the right to determine what constitutes “unreasonable use.”

6. Downtime, Data Loss & Compensation

We aim for high uptime, but servers may experience downtime. If your server is down for 24 continuous hours due to our error, we may provide service credits or extended hosting time as compensation.

7. Account Suspension & Termination

ByteNode reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:

  • Violate these TOS.

  • Pose security risks.

  • Abuse resources or violate Fair Use.

  • Are inactive for extended periods.

8. Payment & Refunds

Payments are processed via Stripe. All charges are final except where stated in our Refund Policy.

9. Limitation of Liability

ByteNode is not liable for:

  • Loss of data caused by user error or external factors.

  • Server downtime outside our control.

  • Misconfigurations or mistakes made by users.

  • Third-party software or service interruptions.

Important: We provide assistance in restoring backups and recovering lost data only when the loss is caused by ByteNode.

10. Changes to the TOS

We may update this TOS periodically. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
